How the Prices on This Site Should Be Read

Every figure published here is a hedged range, and it is deliberately written that way. A garage door spring is sized against the actual weight of a door, so a single confident number quoted by anyone who has not seen the door is a guess. Treat the ranges on the pricing pages as a guide to what most people in Oceanside pay on a booked weekday visit. The figure that matters is the one agreed with you before any work starts, and that one supersedes anything on this website.

Who Does the Work

Enquiries submitted here are dispatched to independent local contractors who hold their own California license and their own insurance. That license belongs to whoever attends your property, not to this website, which is why no license number is published on these pages. Ask for the number before work begins and check it against the Contractors State License Board record. The service agreement, the warranty on the part and the warranty on the labor are all between you and that contractor.

Safety

One warning is worth more than the rest of this page. A wound torsion spring holds enough stored energy to break bones, and it is at full tension while the door is sitting closed. Lift cables and the bottom brackets they attach to are under the same load. Nothing on this site should be read as an instruction to work on those parts yourself, and the pages that discuss them say so individually.

Accuracy of the Guides

The diagnostic and maintenance articles describe what usually causes a symptom on a coastal door. Usually is not always. A door that has been forced while jammed, or repaired previously with mismatched parts, can behave in ways no article predicts, and the only reliable diagnosis is somebody looking at it. We correct pages when we find them wrong, and we do not promise the whole site is current at any given moment.

Using this website creates no liability on our part for any loss arising from it, including decisions taken on the strength of an estimated price. Work carried out at your property is covered by the estimate and warranty issued at the time, not by these terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of California, and San Diego County is the venue for any dispute about them.
