Do you offer same-day garage door repair?
Often the same day where we can, and you get an honest arrival window when you book rather than a vague nine-hour slot. Emergency call-outs are for a door that has left a home or a unit unsecured, or that has stopped in a way somebody could be hurt by. Anything that can safely wait until the next morning is the same repair at the standard rate, which usually makes it the cheaper choice.
Three speeds, and how to pick the right one
An emergency visit means somebody comes out now, at an out-of-hours rate, and it is the right call for a door stuck open with the house exposed to the street, a door hanging crooked on one cable, or a door that has locked a vehicle in when you need it. A same-day visit is a booked slot before the end of the day at the standard rate. A planned slot the next morning is the cheapest of the three, and it is the identical repair by the identical person. Saying that plainly costs us the odd premium call-out and saves people money.
What often feels urgent and is not: a noisy door, a dead handset, cosmetic damage to a panel, one sensor playing up on a door you can still close and lock by hand. A broken spring on a door that is sitting shut is a morning job, provided nobody keeps pressing the button and dragging the whole weight of the door with the opener. Our hours run Monday to Saturday, seven in the morning until seven at night, with emergency cover outside that when a door genuinely cannot wait.
What to say on the phone, and what to do until someone arrives
Half of these get identified from the description alone. A single bang followed by a dead door is a spring. One top corner leading the other with the door jammed is a cable. A door that starts down and comes straight back up is the sensors. Add the make on the motor head, roughly whether the door is single or double width, and where it is sitting now, and the right parts go on the van instead of turning into a second visit. Mention if the garage is standing open to the road, because that moves the job up the queue.
In the meantime, pull the release cord so the opener is disconnected and leave the door exactly where it is. Do not try to lift a door that is hanging crooked, and do not keep running the opener to see whether it will manage this time, because a motor dragging an unbalanced door strips its own drive gear and can bend the rail. Keep cars and children out from underneath. If the door is up and the house is not secure, block the opening from the inside as best you can and say so when you call.
